About Me

As a former chronic low back pain and headache sufferer, Dr. Mathew Ullom knows his patient’s frustration first-hand. He was treated by a number of practitioners before he found a doctor who took the time to assess the way he moved, determine the true cause of his problem, train him in rehabilitation exercises to restore strength and endurance, and teach him how to prevent his facet tropism from causing his reoccurring symptoms. He was very delighted to discover, upon entering a Chiropractic career, that it was a lot more than a backache profession. He now applies all of this knowledge to his own patients.

Dr. Ullom participates in ongoing educational opportunities in movement patterns, functional rehabilitation, chiropractic adjusting techniques, and more, in order to maintain knowledge consistent with current concepts and research. He also remembers the concerns and apprehensions he had the first time he visited a chiropractor. It is for that reason that he tries to explain everything in advance, answer questions, and over-communicate with his patients, because they appreciate that.

Dr. Ullom began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Dubuque, where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and physics, along with basic athletic training, physiology, and anatomy courses.

After completing his undergraduate studies and receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in General Science, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer, he was involved with the rugby team, was the president of the motion palpation club, and was vice president of his fraternity.  Courses of study included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, biomechanics, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Clinics and on a clinic abroad trip to Fiji.

After graduating in 2007, Dr. Ullom moved to Fort Collins, Colorado with his family to help as many people as he can find the true benefits of an optimized nervous system. Dr. Ullom is married to Jennifer, and they have two very active boys.
